What a coincidence. Only 13% of congressional Republicans believe the evidence supporting man-made global warming. I guess they're pandering to the imbeciles mentioned above.

... if we don’t act fast to reverse the damage we’ve done, we’ll be sacrificing the habitability of our planet - something which we should all agree is hugely important.

Actually, Christian fundamentalists (people who are getting disproportionate representation in our government) tend not to follow the biblical "Good Shepard" approach toward our environment. Instead they'd rather follow the equally biblical "Rapture" approach, which requires no guilt for destroying the environment because, well, Armageddon is coming soon anyway.

I hadn't seen the "very likely" news story ... oddly enough, I got carried away with the NASA Attempted Murder news. (You should post about it! Well, I guess this isn't a science gossip blog, but what the heck.)

But anyway, here's the global warming story (From the ABC News ad on your sidebar!): http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/GlobalWarming/wireStory?id=2843292

And here's the NASA story ...

To elucidate my point above, here's a good example of the Christian fundamentalist approach to global warming and environmentalism in general (the fifth paragraph especially).
